This article recognizes the importance of managing life after cancer as more people are surviving cancer with the improvements of early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. These authors suggest a method of self-management that empowers the patient to take a larger role in their life after cancer. They conclude that a strong relationship between the patient and their health care provider is important to help to enable and empower the patient to take control of their life.
